Elev8te the World Day!

Honoring Joshua’s 26th Birthday and Black August for community, family and friends!

How do we use Black August to uplift and elevate the world? Joshua, a longtime member of the HEAR HERE community engagement team, is a singer-song writer, clothing designer who uses his creativity for social change. We are deeply saddened that Joshua is currently incarcerated. We’ll gather to celebrate, honor and send prayers to this creative community activist. We will provide cards for folks to write uplifting birthday messages. You can also purchase some of his merch or listen to his music at www.elev8tedthinking.com

“Black August is an annual commemoration and prison-based holiday to remember Black political prisoners, Black freedom struggles in the United States and beyond, and to highlight Black resistance against racial, colonial and imperialist oppression.”

HEAR HERE will be on deck for the celebration, showcasing Joshua’s inspiring music videos.
