13 WAYS OF LOOKING AT KASPER’S
Location: Temescal Library, 5205 Telegraph Avenue
Saturday, October 15: Exhibition opening, 2pm-4pm
Join the opening of a photo and text exhibition that uses images and storytelling about a boarded-up hot dog stand, to change the way we view the urban landscapes that surround us. For the past 7 years, neighbors Malcom Ryder, a photographer, and Connie Hale, a writer, have been documenting the evolving murals that have covered the facade of local landmark.
At the opening, Malclom and Connie will talk about their process, showcase their behind-the-scenes process, and talk with Tion Torrence, the graffiti muralist and Black Panther Cub who has been leading the site’s mural production. Enjoy live music by Berkeley High School Jazz and come meet your neighbors!
The HEAR HERE Billboard will be on site sharing the artists word poems and engaging questions for community.
