The HEAR/HERE Community Billboard is the cutest, custom-built EV vintage truck on the streets, designed for neighbor empowerment. By meeting neighbors where they are, taking media into local hands, and engaging the public imagination, the community billboard tours North Oakland’s streets, promoting community organizations and neighbor stories.
GUIDING PRINCIPLES
The HEAR HERE Community Billboard’s mission is to nurture community sustainability through a novel form of neighbor stewardship by:
Creating safe spaces for heart-centered conversations that lead to change.
Building connections between longtime and new neighbors to nourish relationships.
Sharing and gathering local histories and stories about contemporary culture from marginalized communities before these stories are lost.
Developing a new community-centered economic model where local small businesses invest in and benefit from the Community Billboard.
